A successful June for the Blue Tap team

June 29th, 2021

June has been one of the most exciting months to date for Blue Tap. We’ve joined the Imagine H2O Accelerator, won an award from CISCO, and to top it off our fantastic COO Becky has become a Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellow. Meanwhile, we've installed and tested our water treatment technology on a demo installation in the UK. It hasn’t all been easy though, after 3 years of lab testing our chlorine dosing technology in Cambridge and Uganda, we were excited to see how it would behave when installed on a typical decentralised water system out in the real world. However, the current international travel restrictions put a hold on our plans to return to Uganda for field trials. Determined not to let this slow our progress, we drew on a bit of resourcefulness and adaptability and decided to simulate a field trial in the suburban garden of our CEO, Francesca. This involved erecting a 6-metre-high water tower, installing our water treatment system onto the side, and then assessing its functionality and operating range. A super successful (work from home) field trial means our technology is now ready for further pilot testing in the Autumn. Watch this space…
